Future games: turn a prediction into a small experiment

A future game is a way to imagine a possibility. It cannot tell you what will happen. This collection explores three different time horizons: the next month, a bigger life change, and the kind of everyday life you would like by 2030.

Choose a time horizon

Start with Next 30 Days if you want a small, immediate prompt. Biggest Change is about which part of life currently has your attention. Life In 2030 is better for comparing longer-term priorities. Playing all three can expose a useful contrast: the thing occupying today is not always the thing you want to build around.

Make a prediction testable without treating it as true

Suppose you receive “A Fresh Door Opens.” Write down one invitation you could make yourself: ask a friend to walk, join a local activity, or send a question about a project. Choose a date to try it. At the end of the month, compare what you actually did with what you imagined. The useful part is your action and observation, not whether the game seemed to foresee it.

Compare priorities, not fortunes

With a friend, each name one part of the result you would welcome and one part you would change. Ask what support would make that change easier. Nobody needs to disclose a personal worry or defend why their result differs.
